Kevorkian to stay in jail

Ohio.-- Jack Kevorkian, known as "Dr. Death" for orchestrating assisted suicides, will stay in prison.

His petition for bail was dismissed and a bond hearing cancelled, at the request of his lawyers. They did not give a reason.  Kevorkian's recent efforts to be released from prison have been based on poor health, but prison authorities say that the medical facilities available to him are adequate.

Having failed to get his conviction reversed at the state level, Kevorkian is now appealing his convication at the federal level of court.
