Democrats for Life Form in Monroe County

Democrats for Life of America is a group that is pondering its course in Monroe County.  DFLA formed because of the pointed lack of response of the Democratic party to the requests of pro-life Party members. 

The pro-life Democrats held a round table discussion and pot luck dinner November 23 in Rochester, NY.  In attendance were two Democratic town and county legislators.  Ken Maher, staff to DFLA in New York, gave an update on the New York State Chapter formation.  An activity report was also given from the National office

According to Carol Crossed, national president of DFLA, the discussion centered around the following questions:

• Why is it necessary for good Democrats who are pro-life to remain in the Democratic party?

• How can we better educate the public about the amount of pro-abortion rights special interest millions that go into supporting Democratic candidates?

• How can pro-life democratic officeholders support each other?  How do they get beyond 'political correctness' and how can they be supported in following their conscience?
