Bush and the Atheist
Writer Denny Walsh of the Sacramento Bee wrote in May that Dr. Michael A. Newdow, a doctor who has a law degree, sued in federal court to make President Bush stop his references to his Christian beliefs. Specifically he said that the prayer Billy Graham offered at Bushs inauguration made him feel like an outsider. Apparently he did not like references to "the Lord Jesus Christ" and considered this type of reference to advance a specific religion, Christianity.
However, the case has been dismissed. The judge said that "the courts have no authority to restrain a president from acting in a particular fashion."
