Abortion Facility Bomber Pleads Guilty
Eric Rudolph, according to the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, pleaded guilty on April 13 to four bombings that killed two people. Many people were injured by the home-made bombs, which he detonated in Atlanta and Birmingham at two abortion clinics, the 1996 Olympics, and a gay nightclub.
As a result of his guilty plea, he avoids the possibility of a death sentence and will instead get four life sentences, to be served consecutively with no possibility of parole.
Rudolph said he did the bombings as a protest against abortion.
One can understand the concern over abortion, since each abortion kills an unborn child. However, Rudolph expressed no concern for the two people who were killed, nor for the many people he injured and otherwise put at risk with his choice of method of operation.
A spokesperson for Rochester Area Right to Life said, “RARTL does not condone violence in pursuing pro-life goals. Each and every life is valuable, born or unborn.”
