Tuesday, March 31. Terri’s Day.  Terri’s Foundation and Priests for Life once again invite individuals, families, Churches and organizations to observe the "International Day of Prayer and Remembrance for Terri Schindler Schiavo, and All of Our Vulnerable Brothers and Sisters" ("Terri's Day") on March 31, the fourth anniversary of Terri's death.

March 28, 2009  “Spotlight on Life: Current Issues,” a conference sponsored by the Rochester Students for Life at the University of Rochester.   College students, high school students, and the general public are invited.

Thursday, January 22, 2009   March for Life in Washington, DC.  Three full buses went from the area: St. Thomas the Apostle in Irondequoit, St. Johns of Rochester in Fairport, and St. Mary's Parish in Canadaigua.

 

Thursday, Jan 22, 2009.  Silent Prayer Vigil at Sacred Heart Cathedral on the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion.  All are welcome to come and pray, in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, for a greater awareness of the dignity of human life and its protection.  The vigil is from 7 PM to 8 PM.

Friday, January 16Afternoon of prayer for the sanctity of life.  Sandi Clawson, director of the Embracing Options pregnancy center, invites people to join them at their office at 342 Arnett Blvd for an afternoon of prayer for the sanctity of life.  It will be January 16th from noon to 5 PM, kind of an open house format.  They have various ministers who will be coming in to pray.    Call ahead to let them know if you would like to attend (235-0690).

Saturday, January 17, 2009  Pro-Life Retreat.  Spiritual Recollection and Renewal.
Come and take some time to renew your faith and prepare for the New Year! If you participate in pro-life activities in any form, or you are considering participating, you’ll want to join us as we come together to spiritually prepare ourselves to stand for life. Wednesday, October 1 “Roe v. Wade and the Corruption of Constitutional Jurisprudence” a presentation by Dr. Michael Filozof, an adjunct professor of  political science at Niagara County Community College.  His title for the talk reflects his conviction that the justices in many cases “have chosen to substitute their own personal preferences for the text of the Constitution” and have indeed corrupted the judicial process.  Rochester Area Right to Life Annual Meeting.  All are invited.   7:00 PM at the Greece Town Hall on Long Pond.  Call 621-4690 if questions.

Wednesday, September 24.  First day of 40 Days for Life fall campaign in 173 cities nationwide. Rochester will have 40 days of prayer and fasting for supporters, a round-the-clock prayer vigil at an abortion site, and an educational outreach to the community.  Planners and organizers needed now (!) through August into September.  Campaign ends on November 2.   National info at www.40daysforlife.com.
