EDUCATION FUND
The purpose of the Rochester Area Right to Life Committee, Inc. is to restore respect and protection for the lives of the unborn, newborn handicapped, ill/elderly who are potential victims of abortion, infanticide or euthanasia. The organization is voluntary, non-profit, non-sectarian, and non-partisan. All activities are pursued through legal and non-violent means.
We do this through three legally separate organizations: Education (Education Fund), Issue Advocacy (RARTL Committee), and PAC (Political Action Committee/ Election Activities).
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the work of the organization. The duties include but are not restricted to:
reaches out to community organizations, schools, and area churches with the pro-life message toward the unborn, newborn, ill and aged;
recruits and organizes volunteers for such projects as getting out the newsletter and other bulk mailings, data entry, and other appropriate activities;
writes correspondence/letters of outreach to community such as schools, colleges, area churches;
maintains a library of RARTL resources (e.g., films, pamphlets, books, tapes) to be shared with the larger community;
works closely with the RARTL President and members of the Board to coordinate with leadership of other community organizations to develop educational efforts which counter abortion, infanticide, and euthanasia;
manages the office (including finances), greeting the volunteers, and handling phone calls and correspondence;
attends and provides input for monthly board meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-
a pro-life philosophy on abortion, infanticide, and euthanasia
- good oral communication skills;
- ability to write effectively;
- some computer skills (if not - must be willing to learn);
- flexibility;
- ability to work alone;
- ability to get along well with people;
- patience and perseverance
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Ability to deal comfortably and well with different types of people who may not share a pro-life philosophy.
HOURS: Part-time, currently 24 hours/week, some evenings, some weekends
START DATE: Mid-December, 2003, or negotiable
